As we start our dance year our faculty is excited about bringing into the classroom all of the great material we acquired over the summer. We cannot wait to work with each and every student. One of the fundamentals of being a great dancer is your ballet training.
"Ballet Technique is very difficult. It never becomes easy....it becomes possible.
Here are some great tips for your 1st month of dance.
At the Barre
1. Never pull on the barre. Always push down on it.
2. Never pull up or life yourself up from your plie. Always push down to come up.
3. Never hold you breath while balancing. Always exhale.
Turning
1. Never turn without focusing your eyes sharply on where you can spot. Always snap your head around as fast as possible as you look for your spot.
2. Never pull up on shoulders. Always push down.
3. Never pull up from the floor. Always push into the floor.
